Assets - Create New Asset

Although assets don't do much by themselves in Noviqu, they are a great way to link specific learnings to assets in your facility. Let's get started with creating a new asset!

1. Login to your Noviqu account and then navigate to the Assets page using the menu on the left-hand side.

2. Once you are on the Assets page, click on the Add New button in the top right to create a new asset.

3. A window will slide open where you can add the details for your new asset. All fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required. Here's a list of each field as well as a brief description of what they are.
   • Type - The type of asset. This is used purely for organization purposes within Noviqu. You can add new asset types by going here.
   • Name - The name of the asset.
   • Other Identifier - If you have a specific identifier for this asset that you use internally or other systems, you can enter it here.
   • Description - A brief description of what the asset is or does.
   • Manufacturer - The manufacturer of the asset.
   • Model - The asset model.
   • Parent Asset - If this asset is a child of another asset, you can select it's parent here. The parent asset must already exist in Noviqu to show up in the list of options.
   • Site - The site that the asset belongs to. Learn more about sites here.
   • Area - The area that the asset belongs to. Learn more about areas here.
   • Assign a Tag - Choose whether to create and assign a new tag to this asset. You can always choose to assign a tag after creating the asset as well. Learn more about tags here.

4. Once you have all of the fields filled in, click on the Create button in the bottom left corner of the New Asset window.

5. After the asset has been created, you will be redirected to the Asset Detail page. This is where you can see the details of an asset as well as what learnings have been associated with it in Noviqu. If you're interested in learning more about what you can do on the Asset Detail page, click here.
