Assets - Asset Detail

The assets detail page is where you can view all of the activity for an asset, as well as being able to make any updates to the details. Let's dig into each section below!

Details / Editing

You can update the details for an Asset, like the Name, Description, Site, Area, etc. by simply clicking the edit icon next to the Asset Name. This will slide out a new window allowing you to edit the asset information.

Heads up! You'll need the "Core -> Assets -> Can Create & Edit" permission in Noviqu to edit/update areas. You will not see the Edit icon if you do not have the correct permissions.

In the Edit Asset window you will see a list of fields that you can update for the asset. All fields marked with a red asterisk (*) are required.

  • Type - The type of asset. This is used purely for organization purposes within Noviqu. You can add new asset types by going here.
  • Name - The name of the asset.
  • Other Identifier - If you have a specific identifier for this asset that you use internally or other systems, you can enter it here.
  • Description - A brief description of what the asset is or does.
  • Manufacturer - The manufacturer of the asset.
  • Model - The asset model.
  • Parent Asset - If this asset is a child of another asset, you can select it's parent here. The parent asset must already exist in Noviqu to show up in the list of options.
  • Site - The site that the asset belongs to. Learn more about sites here.
  • Area - The area that the asset belongs to. Learn more about areas here.

When you're all done, simply click the Save Asset button!

Activity Tab

The activity tab shows all activity related to this asset in Noviqu. It's great for keeping on top of what is going on with a specific asset in your facility.

Additional Details Tab

The additional details tab shows custom fields that are not included in Noviqu by default. This is where you can add extra information to the asset that maybe you weren't able to add when creating them.

For example, you could add a custom field called "Purchase Date" and use that to quickly see when a specific asset was purchased.

Sub Assets Tab

The sub assets tab is for managing which assets are a child/sub-asset to the currently viewed asset. This is especially great for being able to break a larger asset down into smaller pieces (sub-assets).

Learning Tab

The learning tab is where you can see all learnings that have been associated with this asset in Noviqu. This is great if you need to organize learnings by asset and make it easier for everyone in the organization to find ones that are specific to an asset.

You can associate an asset with a learning by going to the learning's detail page and associating the asset under the Associations tab.

Notes Tab

The notes tab is used for... you guessed it, notes! There's really not much more to it. Jot down anything related to this asset for future reference. Friendly heads up that anyone that can view an Asset's Detail page can view all of the notes.

Heads up! You'll need the "Core -> Assets -> Notes -> Can View" permission to be able to see notes on an Asset. You'll also need the Create & Edit permission to be able to create notes on the asset.

That's it! Hopefully you now have a good idea of how to best utilize the Asset Detail page.
